Sinusitis

Sinusitis is inflammation of the nasal sinuses and manifests in the form of coughing, fever and bad breath. People with allergy can develop sinusitis. In this context, it is difficult to distinguish between sinusitis in allergic rhinitis and that associated with the common cold.
The differentiating feature of allergic rhinitis is nose itching and a watery runny nose together with sneezing and involvement of the eyes as well. In contrast, the common cold is characterised by thick secretions and less sneezing.
In sinusitis, congestion and headache predominate. Fever tends to accompany both the common cold and sinusitis.
